SHOWING

In order to provide our clients and horses the ability to compete at their optimal level, we attend a wide variety of horse shows ranging from A and AA shows to national finals.

Ascend Equestrian attends 15-20 shows each year under the training and coaching of our head trainer, Sarah Robertson. These shows offer classes suitable to riders of all levels and ages, from flat classes, pole piles, and cross poles to the highest levels of competition.

Our show schedule closely follows the Hunter Jumper Association of Michigan (“HJAM”) show calendar, providing horses and riders with the optimal opportunity to earn points towards year end awards, as well as USHJA Zone 5 awards and points towards National Finals and Indoors.

Showing provides a great opportunity for students to watch and learn from top riders, as well as providing lessons in sportsmanship and showmanship. We have a range of show riders from the occasional show rider looking to gain experience and have fun to those looking to be competitive at the highest levels of the sport.

Whether you are looking to have your child break into the horse showing world as a short stirrup rider, become a first-time novice adult show rider, or aspire to the higher levels of competition, our trainers have the knowledge and experience to help you achieve your horse showing goals.

Ascend Equestrian’s show horses and riders benefit from individualized comprehensive show plans designed to bring out the best in each horse and a positive experience for horse and riders. Our show plans include such important elements as training rides, professional rides in classes, show supplements and medications, icing, poulticing, lunging, hand walking, and regular Bemer treatments.

Organization is a key component to ensuring a smooth, efficient day at the shows and starts well in advance of competitions with creating a schooling and class plan for each horse and rider. The day before each show day, a detailed time schedule is sent out to clients and staff with every detail of the day from hacking, lesson, hand walking, and showing times to lunging orders and each horse’s care needs.

Our horses and riders have qualified for, competed at, and received top ribbons at numerous prestigious competitions including Pennsylvania National, National Horse Show, Capital Challenge, Junior Hunter Finals, USEF Medal Finals, Maclay Finals, NCEA Finals, USHJA Jumping Seat Finals, Pony Finals, Ariat Adult Medal Finals, and THIS Adult Medal Finals.
